Artist's Comments

"Fare thee well, little broken heart.
Downcast eyes, lifetime loneliness.
Whatever walks in my heart will walk alone...

Constant longing for the perfect soul.
Unwashed scenery forever gone.
Whatever walks in my heart will walk alone...

No love left in me,
No eyes to see the heaven beside me.
My time is yet to come,
So I'll be forever yours."

:tears: Here's an assumed scene from the end of Susan Kay's "Phantom"... :cries: Iz so saaaad! But beautifully so!

With this picture, as compared to the last POTO picture I did, I tried to make Erik's hair look thinner, not to mention the grey streak. After all, he is - like - in his fifties when he dies. I must say, I'm VERY pleased with his face! I stared at a picture of a human skull for quite some time to get the right contours and shading, and YAY it worked wonderfully! The picture is based during the final moments of his life, so I did my best to give him an expression of sorrow, or perhaps unmeasurable happiness. What better way to die than in the arms of the woman whom you love more than life itself? Oh, tears! It was a long time coming, but Erik got the reward that he so rightly deserved! :w00t:

There's not much to say when it comes to Christine, mostly because, well, she's rather "normal", but I do like her hand! I imagine that her palm against Erik's cheek and her face nestled in the crook of his neck is a symbol of her acceptance, her lack of fear, and her love for him. I really do believe that she cared for Erik far more than she cared for Raoul.

So, yeah! Oh, I also discovered that if I scan in colour, it gives the picture a bit of a red overtone, and makes it look all warm and cozy, ne? I like! ^_^

What a delight this is! All this inventing, this producing, takes place in a pleasing, lively dream.

Thank you so much! I had been telling my friends how wonderful it was to get comments from someone such as yourself who did such lovely Phantom work! Wow! That is an honor in itself! Thank you!

I've never seen it/heard of it, so it's interesting. I love the pose and composition. Well done

"The Phantom of the Opera" is a 1911 book, a 1997 book, a 2004 film, and $36,000,000,000 worth of stage performances! ^_^ It's a fantastic story, and utterly enchanting! When they say, "...the Phantom of the Opera is there, inside your mind..." they really aren't kidding! Or "...the Angel of Music sings songs in my head...", or "...you resist, but your soul obeys...". ^_^ It's like a drug. :pills:

Ohhhhhhh ok! I thought "Phantom" was something else :lmao:, not "of the opera". It all makes sense now.
